Umbralis
The Umbralis are a species of amortal, spirit-like entities originating from the World of Light and Shadows. They are the embodiment of the duality of Light and Shadow, existing in a state of balance between the two.
Appearance
Umbralis have a partially transparent body that appears to be made from shadows, and they are wearing flowing hooded cloaks that look like they were made from light.
Umbralis are often confused with ghosts. However, despite their mystical appearance, the Umbralis are believed to be a very real and tangible presence in the world.
One of the most distinctive features of the Umbralis is their eyes. While they have no other discernible facial features, their eyes are said to be mesmerizing, shining with a soft and alluring light. Some have even reported feeling as though they have been seen through to their very soul.
Behaviour and Interaction
When crossing over into our world, Umbralis are often drawn to places of history or knowledge, inhabiting ancient ruins or libraries. They are known to possess a deep knowledge and understanding of the world and its history.
Language
It is not known exactly how the Umbralis communicate, as they do not to be capable to create any form of sound. However, those who have encountered them report what appears to be a form of telepathic communication. Such individuals described the experience as having heard a melody which seemed to have originated from within their own minds, and, upon hearing this melody, somehow knowing what the Umbralis wanted them to know.
Culture
While little is known about the culture or society of the Umbralis, if there is any, it is widely believed that it centers about knowledge and wisdom.
Relationship with Humans
Despite their seemingly ghostly apperance, they are not malevolent and do not appear to possess any intention of causing harm. In fact, many who have encountered these creatures report sense of calmness and tranquility in their presence and they are held in high regard by those who have encountered them. Many view them as a symbol of wisdom and enlightenment, and seek out their presence as a way to gain insight into the mysteries of the world.
