Familius

A familius (pl. "familii"), also called familiar, is an animal that forms a special bond with a particular witch or wizard. Familiars are an important aspect of magical lore in many cultures. While familiars are often associated with witchcraft and magic, it should be noted that familiars are not a common occurrence. While there are no exact numbers, it is assumed that between one in 100 and one in 1000 Magi have a familiar.
