The Golden Dawn Society is an organization that has dedicated itself to revealing the existence of the magic society to the world.

Origin and History

The Order of the Golden Dawn was founded in 1623 by Aethelstan Haldane, Wulfric Aldred, Cyneheard Wulfstan, Leofric Thoresby and Eadgyth Elsmley. All five individuals were Dormants who lived among Mundanes. The order had two goals. They wanted to change what they considered unequal treatment of Dormants, who often felt like outsiders among Magi, hence the common choice of living among Mundanes. They also saw how Mundanes suffered because of circumstances that could often easily be remedied by a simple spell. However, many Magi refused to help, instead averting their eyes and hiding away in their own world.

Believing that exposing the magic society to the Mundane world could usher in a "golden dawn" for all of humanity, the order made this their goal.

In 1897, the Order of the Golden Dawn rebranded itself to Golden Dawn Society. While until this time, the Order's ranks comprised primarily Dormants, and a few Magi sharing their views, the Society now allowed Mundane members to join.

Current Structure

Today, the Society is separated into the Inner Circle and the Outer Circle. The Inner Circle, is a group of Dormants, and possibly Magi, looking for ways to fulfill the Society's original goals. They are led by an individual simply known as the Raven in Red.

The Outer Circle are Mundanes who believe in the existence of magic and try to find evidence to proof it. Many of them scour news reports and the internet for any form of evidence, such as videos of unexplained phenomenons. The exact number of members within the Outer Circle is unknown, but it is assumed to be within the five digit range.
