Brónach Ní Mhurchú
Brónach Ní Mhurchú (*1856) is a female Fir Bolg and a teacher at the Greannmhar School of Magick. Although she does not care much for human titles, she holds the rank of an honorary Master.
Personality
Brónach has little patience for those who mistreat plants or magical creatures or show a lack of respect for nature. Her general dislike for non-magical humans stems from their destructive impact on the environment. However, she is willing to change her opinion of someone if they demonstrate genuine care for plants and magical creatures and make an effort to learn proper techniques.
Appearance
Brónach is 167 years old, which is not particularly old for a Fir Bolg. They have a longer lifespan than humans, and it is not uncommon for them to live for several centuries. As such, despite her age, she maintains a youthful appearance and energy, thanks to her deep connection with nature and magic. She is of tall and slender stature with striking emerald green eyes and long, wavy auburn hair that she often braids with a variety of magical plants. She has an elegant and somewhat stern demeanor, exuding a strong and commanding presence to all her students. Her skin is a soft, earthy brown hue, and she has faint freckles scattered across her cheeks.
Bronach is often seen wearing flowing robes in shades of green and brown, adorned with embroidered patterns of various plant and creature species. She also likes to decorate heir hair with healing herbs and is known to wear a small pendant made of intricately woven vines, which is said to have magical properties.
Teaching at Greannmhar
Brónach teaches Herbology and Magizoology and is the head of the Earth Coven. She is a strict and demanding teacher, and deeply invested in her students' success. She encourages her students to explore the wonders of magical plants and creatures through hands-on experiences, often taking her classes outdoors to work with them directly. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she oversees the care and maintenance of Greannmhar's extensive magical gardens, greenhouses, the school's rare plant collection, and its magical creature habitats. Her house is located in the forest adjacent to the greenhouse.
Persoal History
Born and raised in Ealdwic, a Fir Bolg village deep within the Whispering Woods, Brónach discovered her passion for plants, magical creatures, and their magical properties at a young age. Under the guidance of her grandmother, a skilled herbalist, Brónach honed her skills in identifying, cultivating, and utilizing various magical plants, as well as caring for magical beasts. She later attended Greannmhar School of Magic, where she excelled in her studies and showed a particular aptitude for herbology, care of magical creatures, and potion-making.
After completing her magical education, Brónach spent several years traveling the world, studying the diverse flora and fauna of different magical regions and exchanging knowledge with other herbalists, potion masters, and magical creature experts. During her travels, she encountered and cataloged many rare and unusual plants and creatures, which she incorporated into her teachings upon her return to Greannmhar School of Magic as the Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures professor.
Wand
Brónach's wand is a unique and enchanting piece of magical craftsmanship. The wand measures approximately 40 cm in length and is composed of several intricately twisted roots that seamlessly entwine around one another, forming a straight and sturdy staff. The roots themselves appear to be from a rare and ancient tree, imbuing the wand with a deep connection to nature.
Towards the handle, the roots thicken and weave more tightly, providing a comfortable grip for Brónach's hand. Subtle, natural grooves can be felt along the handle, as if the wand has adapted to perfectly fit its owner. The tip of the wand is formed by the roots tapering and converging into a single, slender point, from which the magical energy is focused and channeled.
A rich, earthy color permeates the wand, and its surface bears the markings of age and wisdom. The wand seems to emit a gentle, warm aura, reflecting Brónach's deep connection to the natural world and her role as a guardian of magical plants and creatures.
